Today I start with this now classic picture of now former Petron import Renaldo Balkman strangling his teammate Arwind Santos. This happened last week as the world was preparing to witness the conclave of bishops selecting a new pope.
This meltdown by Balkman was the weekend's top story that generated a lot of buzz online. The trend escalated when he was banned for life by PBA Commissioner Chito Salud last Monday. Many felt the decision was just, so that he won't cause more harm to his team. This despite the fact that he already apologized to the whole team after they lost that crucial game to Alaska. But for some people the decision was unfair because he said sorry and was remorseful.
Now this tragedy that happened to Renaldo Balkman may happen to anyone among us. The lesson to learn about this is to never be too competitive that will compromise your passion for your job. Because too much competitiveness leads to a meltdown and will slowly destroy you in the process.
